Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, on Wednesday asked people of Jammu and Kashmir to hoist black flags on their rooftops and observe the Indian Republic Day on January 26 as a black day. This, she said, will once again will be a message to India and to the world that India has illegally occupied JK and people here protest and resent its presence by all means. In a statement, Andrabi also said that by observing Jan 26 as black day, people will fail the false claims made by India and its puppets regarding the status of Jammu and Kashmir. She said that so far people of Kashmir have given tremendous sacrifices and are ready to sacrifice everything but won't stop from struggling against the illegal Indian rule. "India will celebrate its republic day on Jan 26 but for Kashmir and Kashmiris, Indian Republic Day or Independence Day is always the days of tremendous sufferings, and harassment. " She said that though India claims Jan 26 as Republic Day, for Kashmiris this day brings along death, fear and destruction. " What kind of a Republic is it that you occupy a nation using 10 lakh forces and the claim that we are a democracy. This is worse than an autocracy and is a blot on democracy." Andrabi said that India is using the services of 10 lakh forces and some puppets in Jammu and Kashmir to continue its illegal occupation. " Kashmir has been turned into a military garrison. For the past few days, India and its forces have used all means to torture and harass the people.Crackdowns are being held, frisking has become a norm and every now and then people are being ill-treated," she said. "If India claims that Kashmir is its "integral" part, then why is every Kashmir being subjected to so much brutality and why have these forces made the life hell in Kashmir. Why isn't the same situation being found in India.People are celebrating in India, then why is it that Kashmir are observing the day as black day and are being subjected to extreme hardships." This, she said, once again proves the fact that people of Jammu and Kashmir to not want to stay with India. " People of JK don't even remotely relate themselves with Indian Republic Day."(KNO)
